Mongoose Bicycles was founded in 1974 as BMX Products, Inc. It was launched in a garage. It was the first of its kind for BMX bicycles. The Mongoose was named for the mongoose animal. The Mongoose is a passive animal. But, when it is provoked it can be vicious and it has been known to kill Cobra’s that are twice it’s size.
Mongoose started the full-suspension bicycle market by introducing the Amplifier. The Amplifier is the most-copied suspension bicycle design in the market. Later on, Mongoose invented the Newman adult bicycle frame. The Newman adult bicycle frame has been shown to significantly stronger than any other bike frames on the market. Also, the Newman frame is not only strong; but, it is known for looking distinctive.
Mongoose has a goal of dominating the bicycle industry. Mongoose has been bought by acquired by Pacific Cycle, LLC. Mongoose know features more than 40 BMX, mountain, trail, freestyle, jumping, comfort, road, and cyclocross bikes.
